Hypnotherapy

Is hypnosis a scary thought to you? Speaking of scary thoughts,  just for a moment, think back to when you were a child… and pretend that you’re getting ready for bed at night. Did you have to make sure that the closet door was closed? Did you need to look under the bed? Did you pull the covers over your head thinking that if you were hiding under the covers, the “boogie man” couldn’t find you? We grow up, change our perspective, and come to terms with the boogie man.

The negative stories about hypnosis are right up there with the boogie man.  There’s nothing scary about hypnosis! In the first place, you’re not really asleep during hypnosis. Hypnosis is actually a heightened state of concentrated awareness. However, your body becomes so relaxed that when you’re in a hypnotic trance for 20 minutes, your body feels as if it had a 2-hour nap!

Hypnosis Scary Thought: You’re being controlled.” That one is the boogie man’s cousin! You’re the one in control.  Let me repeat that: YOU are the one in control! The hypnotist is only the facilitator. No hypnotist could make you do anything that you would not normally agree to do – and you would never, ever tell any secret or break a confidence while in a state of hypnosis if you didn’t want to.

Hypnosis Scary Thought: Death by Hypnosis. There has never been a terminal case of hypnosis – ever! Not during a present moment session, nor a regression, nor a progression.  Hollywood movies don’t count – they’re not real.

How does hypnosis work?  Think of your brain as a computer, and your mind as the hard drive. The programs are stored in your subconscious. If you want a different result, you have to alter the programs. Hypnosis allows you to quickly and easily access your subconscious, change the computer chip, and achieve the desired results in a short amount of time. This has nothing to do with will-power! If you truly want to accomplish something – such as quitting smoking or even a better golf game – hypnosis accesses your subconscious mind and redirects your line of thought to what you really desire. All that is necessary is an amount of intelligence, a little imagination, and a strong desire. The rest is easy – try it, you may like it!

What can be helped with hypnosis:

  • Quitting smoking
  • Losing weight
  • Eliminating emotional hangups
  • Finding out about past lives (if you believe in it… or maybe if you don’t!)
  • Improving self-esteem
  • Changing bad habits
  • Changing negative behaviors
  • Minimizing and/or getting rid of physical limitations
  • Improving sports training and performance
  • There are many, many other possibilities!
